Toot toot!
I’m not one to usually toot my own horn, but I feel compelled to do so.
Not only did I drive my daughter to dance tonight, but I picked her up too!
Holy moly guacamole!
Now, for all of you who do not have an issue with anxiety and/or panic, you must be thinking that I have completely lost my mind andΒ you may not understand why this is a big deal. Β I get it.
But, to those of you who know anxiety, know panic, you will know this is a massive accomplishment!
Woo hoo!
I haven’t done that, by myself, in about two months. Β Seriously.
I told you this was a BIG DEAL!!!
I’m not going to lie. Β It was hard. Β I was scanning, scanning, scanning my body for any signs of anxiety (which of course, we know can actually cause more anxiety! Go figure!). My heart was racing, my mind was looping around like a hamster wheel and I had Taylor Swift blaring! Β Singing along whilst slightly hyperventilating! Β It was uncomfortably liberating!
So that’s it. Β My big accomplishment of the day.
Not too shabby if I do say so myself.
Toot toot!

I totally understand where you are coming from. It is one of those things that you really can’t explain unless you have experienced it. Fantastic achievement.

Have you done any habit stacking research? I think you mentioned going further and further as an excessive, which is basically what that it- just curious if you’ve read some books on it or whatnot?

exercise not excessive…

The idea of ‘ok I go to the alley and drop the garbage. Today I’m going to walk over to the other garage on the other side of the street’ and work it into your habit.

Interesting. So that means I have to do something else tomorrow! Yikes! Hahaha! Okay, let me sleep on it! I will come up with something! Thanks so much!

Maybe. Or just make taking daughter to dance habit. But instead of going right home after she’s there- go get milk. Or eggs. It’s about adding on to what you already do- not changing your world overnight. But this is still awesome. Great job.

Great job! Having never driven a car without supervision (for goodness sake I’m a grown woman, this should be simple!), I can totally understand your anxiety about driving!
